My friend works as a chef in a restaurant and was explaining to me all the things that a restaurant has to get right in order to trade. As well as all the hygiene certificates necessary for a restaurant to keep trading, she explained that the restaurant needed an
Air Conditioning Certificate. I was intrigued by this as I did not imagine that an
Air Conditioning Certificate was necessary. However, as she explained, in a restaurant such as hers where air conditioning is very important for the comfort of the diners and the staff, there is no point in having air conditioning if there is no
Air Conditioning Certificate to ensure that it is working properly. It really made me think about all the things that go on in restaurants that the general public do not think about. All we do is go in a premises, sit down and order our food and hope for a pleasant experience. Knowing about all the things the owners of the restaurant has to think about made me realise why restaurants put a significant mark up on the prices of the food. After all, it is not just the food that we as diners are enjoying, it is the overall experience.

There are a number of Road signs that are used to indicate particular instructions. For instance, on highways, there are Road signs that tell you what speed you can drive at. This will often be a sign with a numerical that indicated the speed allowed. If a sign says ?80`, it means that a person should drive at this speed, and driving slower or faster can be hazardous. Similarly, there are other Road signs that are placed in order to direct people. Another common example of Road signs is the ?no entry` sign, which tells a driver not to enter in a particular lane. Road signs with arrows simply direct drivers on a particular road.
